Wind is an everyday occurrence at Corolla and ranges from calm southwest breezes to harsh northeast storm winds. However, the weather changes fast here and can be quite unpredictable, as well. Spring is most prone to these weather changes, and is frequented by tropical storms and hurricane. About twice a year on an average, tropical hurricanes come close enough to influence the weather of this place.

About 40 miles to the northwest of Corolla, Norfolk International Airport, Virginia is located. Corolla is also accessible from Northeastern Regional Airport at Edenton, North Carolina, which is 47 miles from there. You can drive up NC 12, while enjoying panoramic views of beach cottages to reach Corolla by road. |
