Corolla enjoys a temperate climate all year round, with a combination of bright sunny days and gentle ocean breezes. The temperature can get as low as 36° F in winters and as high as 86° F in summers, enjoying a year-round average hovering around 70° F. Summer season offers mild temperatures, ideal for vacationing.

Wind is an everyday occurrence at Corolla and ranges from calm southwest breezes to harsh northeast storm winds. However, the weather changes fast here and can be quite unpredictable, as well. Spring is most prone to these weather changes, and is frequented by tropical storms and hurricane. About twice a year on an average, tropical hurricanes come close enough to influence the weather of this place.

May through June is the most pleasant time of the year. Pleasant sea breezes cool the sunny days, in summers. Winters get too chilly with temperatures dropping below 40° F, hence making summers the ideal time to visit Corolla. You can reach here by air, using any of these airports. Chesapeake Regional Airport is the closest airport, being 33 miles to the northwest of Corolla in Norfolk, Virginia. About 40 miles to the northwest of Corolla, Norfolk International Airport, Virginia is located. Corolla is also accessible from Northeastern Regional Airport at Edenton, North Carolina, which is 47 miles from there.
