| Lula Myers Ranch House |
| You may wonder what’s so special about a log home. Built in 1885, the two-story Lula Myers Ranch House is worth a visit as the logs are hand hewn with an ax and chinked with sticks, rocks, clay and rags. Coffee cans, rolled flat, are nailed over the chinking on the outside and on the inside this is covered with newspapers glued to the logs for additional insulation from the cold. This house is definitely an architectural marvel not only from the way it looks but also for being built from natural materials. The tour takes place from July to early September, Tuesday through Saturday from 1PM to 4PM. If you wish to visit between September and May, you would need to take an appointment. |
