Estates |
About 15000 sq. ft. of the Estates area
houses 9 National Register Historic buildings as well as
Botanical and Research Gardens. The museum here is a
fascinating collection of the inventors’ laboratory and
inventions, and features hundreds of Edison and Ford
objects, video theatres and changing special exhibits.
Edison & Ford Winter Estates offers several guided tours
of the property, museum and botanical gardens. A variety of
events and programs are held here including, Holiday House,
Festival of Lights, Thomas Edison’s Birthday, Antique Car
Show, Plant Sale, Lectures, Book Signings, Director’s Tours,
Sunday Strolls and Art at the Estates.
Museum also
offers a museum store and a Garden Shoppe, which sells some
unique gifts, educational items and historical plants from
its own gardens. It is handicapped accessible as per ADA
standards and wheelchairs are available. It also houses
picnic areas and food service. The Estates is open
year-round from Monday to Saturday, 9 AM - 5:30 PM, and
Sunday from noon until 5:30 PM. Admission includes $15 for
adults, $8.50 for children (6-12) and free for children (5
and under.) |

| Southwest Florida Museum of
History |
| Southwest Florida Museum of History in the
restored Atlantic Coastline Railroad Depot depicts the
history of Southwest Florida through graphic depictions,
artifacts, photographs and memorabilia of local pioneers.
Paleo Indians, the Calusa, the Seminoles, Spanish explorers,
and early settlers are just a few of the people you will
meet as you view the exhibits out here. A replica of 1800s’
cracker house and a Pullman rail car of 1929 are displayed
in the exterior. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday
from 10 AM to 5 Pm and on Sundays from noon to 4 PM. It is
open to individuals and for group tours as
well. |

| Imaginarium Hands-On Museum |
| If history is not your subject, take your
kids to Imaginarium Hands-On Museum where they can “touch a
cloud, feel the force of a hurricane or run through a
thunderstorm!” Hands-on exhibits include a hurricane
simulator and a marine touch tank. The aquarium at the
museum features eels, sharks, snakes, tarantulas, hissing
cockroaches, and a kinkajou. The museum opens from Monday
through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, on Sunday noon to 5 PM.
Admission fees includes $5 for children (3 – 12), $8 for
adults (13 - 54), $7 for seniors (55 and above), and
children (under 3) and museum members are
free. |

| Everglades Wonder Gardens |
| The Everglades Wonder Gardens features a
large collection of Florida wildlife including exotic birds,
panthers, alligators, flamingos and bears. The facility
originally opened in 1936 as both a wildlife exhibition and
a refuge for injured animals. Now it boasts a botanical
garden and a natural history museum as well. |

| Collier County Historical
Museum |
| Established in 1978, the Collier County
Historical Museum preserves and interprets the history,
archaeology and development of Southwest Florida’s last
frontier. Enjoy a stroll around the museum’s 5-acre
botanical park complete with a native plant garden, orchid
house, 2 early Naples cottages, a logging locomotive, swamp
buggies and even a WWII Sherman tank. Exhibits also include
primeval fossils and depictions of local Indian
civilizations. The museum is open year-round, though it
closes on national and county holidays. Hours are Monday
through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM to 4 PM.
The museum is accessible to the handicapped. Admission is
free. |

| Naples Philharmonic Center for
the Arts |
| The Phil, as the Naples Philharmonic Center
for the Arts is known, is unique among arts centers. It
features both the performing and visual arts in a single
complex, as well as a resident orchestra. In addition to a
main hall and a black box theater, the Phil has 4 art
galleries. The Phil hosts over 400 individual events each
season, including dance, opera, music and Broadway musicals.
The center’s busiest time is between October and April. The
Naples Museum of Art hours vary depending on the season and
it is closed on Mondays and on major holidays. Admission
tickets are available at the Customer Service Center at the
main entrance inside the Paley Gates. Main lobby doors of
Hayes Hall and the Daniels Pavilion open 1 hour before each
performance. Theater entrance doors open for seating 30
minutes before the performance. |

| King Richard’s Family Fun Park |
| King Richard’s Family Fun Park in nearby
Naples features a go cart track, interactive video games,
laser tag and the dance machine. The park also has miniature
golf, batting cages, water rides, amusement rides, a
children’s water playground, food and drinks. The park is
open Sunday through Thursday from noon to 9 PM. On Friday
and Saturday park hours are extended until 10 PM. Visitors
can purchase ride tickets separately, in groups of 6 or 12,
or choose to purchase an all day pass for
$25.95. |

| Naples Fort Myers Greyhound
Track |
| Located in Bonita Springs, the Naples Fort
Myers Greyhound Track attracts visitors the year round. The
races are conducted 7 days a week during the season, which
is from December 26 through Easter, and 5-6 days a week at
other times of the year. Also included are poker rooms and
simulcast betting. |
