Sonoma County complements its fine wines with fine dining. There are several restaurants in and around Guerneville to choose from and many retain their essentially country flavor even though they have diversified into several specialty cuisines. Standard American fare like hamburgers and fries are also commonly available. Guerneville offers omelets, hash browns and sausages at Pat's Cafe, coffee, muffins and quiche at the Coffee Bazaar, and Swedish pancakes at the River Inn. Among the more upscale eateries is Cape Fear in Duncan Mills, which serves country-style food, and Main Street Station, which offers thick crust pizzas, pastas and sandwiches.

When you are looking for some nightlife, you do have a choice. Conolly's Pub is known for live music and dancing and Main Street Station Pizza is a reputed cabaret where you can be sure to hear some excellent jazz. The Russian River Resort provides a variety of entertainment, including comedy nights, karaoke, a piano bar and the occasional special guest performance. Waterline Bar & Grill has live entertainment with family dining and Mc. T's Bullpen is a sports bar with live music. You can also visit one of the theaters in the area for a live performance or a local cinema to catch up on the latest in popular culture.

Guerneville and the entire Sonoma County area is an all-season destination due to the Mediterranean-like climate. There are 2 main seasons, a dry season from May to October and a rainy season from November to April. Summer is the main tourist season; with daytime temperatures ranging from 50º to 80º F. Late autumn and spring are the best seasons to come to this part of California, particularly the months of November, March and April. In spring, daytime temperatures are between 40º and 73º F. Spring offers gentle breezes, exotic flowers and wine tasting events at the several vineyards in the area. Autumn has wonderful weather, the landscape bursts with the colors of the season and several harvest festivals are celebrated at this time. In November, the grapevines change color and the temperatures are perfect, with cool nights and warm days. Autumn day temperatures are a pleasant 40º to 80º F. Winters are chilly, with daytime temperatures ranging from 38º to 60º F. Occasionally in winter, Guerneville sees below freezing temperatures at night with frosty mornings.

Guerneville is about 85 miles from San Francisco International Airport. If you travel north on Highway 101, take the River Road exit just north of Santa Rosa. Guerneville is connected to the Sonoma County Transit system, so it is easy to visit destinations around Guerneville. However, if you want to see a number of places and pack a number of activities into your trip, it would be wise to rent a car from the several car rental services in town.
