In today’s modern world of hi-tech roller coaster rides, a carousel has become a thing of past. However, the charm of a carousel or a merry-go-round ride still lives in our imagination and turning this imagination into a reality is the International Museum of Carousel Art. This is dedicated to the reinstallation, preservation, and exhibition of antique carousels. This museum displays over 125 animals from around the world, related carousel art, chariots and a working 1917 Wurlitzer Band Organ. The world's biggest and most comprehensive set of antique carousel art and an antique steam engine are also exhibited. The Museum is open to the visitors in the months April to October. The visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Admission fee is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for children.
