| This living museum of tropical flowers and foliage, both native and exotic, includes an enchanting Japanese garden. Educational programs are offered year round. The gardens are open from November through April. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sundays. The admission fee is $4 for adults and $2 for children (aged 6-12). Members have free admission. |

| The historical downtown district has specialty and novelty shops, a fine selection of restaurants, art galleries, the beautiful Ft. Pierce City Marina. Currently under renovation are the historic Sunrise Theater and the newly restored 1925 City Hall. Special events are planned throughout the year including “Friday Fest” held the first Friday of each month at 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. |

| Nearby is Jonathan Dickinson State Park, the largest in Florida with its 11,500 acres, gives you the rare opportunity to spot some extraordinary birds and animals. The park's varying habitats, from low pine flat woods to sand pine scrub, from mangrove forests to cypress swamps, along with the wonderful Loxahatchee River, offer great views and well-equipped recreational areas. |

| The preserve is one of the largest remaining fresh water marshes on the east coast of Florida. It offers a multi-use trail for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. This area is ideal for wildlife viewing and canoeing. November through April interpretive activities are available, as well as guided canoe and walking trips. |
