The New Years Day is celebrated with the usual zeal and gusto. The fun filled activities commence at about 8 AM in the Founders Park.

It is held from February 03 to February 05 where the women fishers challenge one of fishing’s most famous tail dancers. Trophies and prizes are awarded to the winners.

It is held in the last week of February and the event is a great place for getting some of the best bargains in town. The market attracts hundreds of sellers of marine and water sports related items and thousands of buyers who bargain for used boats, marine equipment, electronics, fishing tackle, dive gear, nautical arts and crafts and more. The fair is held at the Founders Park.

Earth Day is celebrated on 8th April to create ‘Keep Keys Green’ sand sculptures on Cheeca’s beach. Giant letters of colored sand are made to create awareness of the need to keep the Keys areas green and lush. The annual celebrations also feature entertainment, food and sand-shaping sculptures on the beaches.

Annual Islamorada Invitational Fall Fly Bonefish Tournament is held from September 19 to 22, where the fly anglers try to catch Islamorada bonefish which is the largest and the smartest fish in the world. The celebrations are kicked off on 19th September and the fishing continues for three days.

Islamorada Fishing Club Junior Derby is held on 24th and 25th November and is open to youngster aged 3 to 19 years. Though any one can catch any species of fish and is awarded marks, those who catch bonefish and permit receive higher appreciation.
