| Snorkeling and Diving |
| Key Largo features excellent offshore snorkeling and diving opportunities to the visitors. There are many reef sites such as the Elbow system, Key Largo Dry Rocks, French Reef and the Molasses Reef. These sites also provide the perfect opportunity to explore the rich heritage of the past that lies submerged in the waters in the form of wrecked ships and other types of marine life. |
| |
 |
Molasses Reef |
| |
The USCG Cutters Duane and Bibb sank in 1987 and formed an artificial reef. The Duane is settled upright with its crow’s nest just sixty feet below the surface. The site is challenging though the visibility is great. |

 |
The Elbow |
| |
This fabulous reef system is the habitat of several historic shipwrecks including the famous City of Washington. You can also stop here to view the sharks and moray eels. |

 |
The Wreck of Benwood |
| |
This is a shallow wreck of an old Norwegian freighter lying since 1942 between the Spiegel Grove and the French Reef. Along with the shipwreck, you can also view the rich marine life. Its easy accessibility has made it a popular night diving destination. |
| |
 |
USS Spiegel Grove |
| |
If you visit Benwood, you cannot afford to miss the USS Spiegel Grove. The newest wreck of Key Largo is a 510 feet landing ship dock sunk as an artificial reef on May 17, 2002, but it settled on her starboard side at the depth of 130 feet of water. It was, however, turned upright, almost in perfectly horizontal position from bow to stem, courtesy the strong currents and Hurricane Dennis during 2005. |

| Fishing |
The waters of Key Largo are teeming with schools of fish and provide an angler with plenty of opportunities. In fact Key Largo is considered to be a Mecca for game fishing. Albury Fishing Charters and Key Largo Fishing Adventures are just some of the outfitters providing charters for deep sea fishing. Most of them specialize in live bait fishing for species such as dolphin, tuna, sailfish, grouper, cobia, kingfish and amberjack. Besides offshore fishing you can also fish in the backcountry waters of Florida Bay or the Everglades that are home to a variety of species such as snook, redfish, trout, bonefish and tarpon. Fishing in Florida requires you to purchase a fishing license for both saltwater and freshwater fishing, which is available from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. |

| John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park |
- Founded in the 1960s, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is America’s first underwater park. You can also take a boat and enjoy wonderful sights of the underwater world of the oceanic life. Make sure to obtain a license for saltwater fishing and picnicking with barbeque grills in designated areas. Swimming is allowed in certain areas including Cannon Beach, which contains the remains of an early Spanish shipwreck under 100 feet depth of water. |
| |
| Parasailing |
| You can avail the Key Largo Parasail facility for flying 500 feet above the ocean reef and 1000 feet above the ground and enjoy the fantastic panorama of Key Largo and John Pennekamp State Park. If you are adventurous enough, you can also try out a free fall. A provision of tandem flights is also available to enable you to share your experiences with your friends.
