| Kitty Hawk Bay, Nags Head and Currituck Sound, in vicinity of Kill Devil Hills will astound you with the umpteen fishing opportunities available here. Be it surf or pier fishing, fresh water or salt water fishing you have it all over here however, the area is know for its unparalleled surf fishing conditions. The season begins in March and peaks in May and November. The action really gets going during fall and spring when the water temperatures are moderate and both tropical and cold water fishes move around on their regular migration patterns. Mostly the preys to the anglers’ baits are bluefish and spot; in the cooler months however jumbo bluefish, channel bass and king mackerel also fall prey. As of now a license is not needed for salt water fishing, though it is required for fresh water fishing. |

Individual and tandem hang gliding lessons are available from qualified instructors to those of all ages, from 8 to 80 years old, male or female, physically fit or physically challenged. Special arrangements are made for paraplegics, blind, deaf and other physically challenged people.
Special festivals and events are held to even celebrate kiting and hang gliding. After their successful flight, Wright brothers had gone to the telegraph office at Kitty Hawk to inform their father about their achievement – the reason for its significance in the history of flying. Vicinity to Kill Devil Hills is another reason for its historical prominence. |
