| Take a peep into the history of the region and learn about its inhabitants including the local Native Americans, the Donner Party and the transcontinental railroad builders at Emigrant Trail Museum. Situated within Donner Memorial State Park, you will come across interesting artifacts and memorabilia including posters, maps and books, which you can even purchase to take back home. Besides the museum you can also visit the Pioneer Monument, located nearby which houses the Donner Party’s Murphy family cabin and shows the depth of snowfall received in that year. The museum is open year round from 9 AM to 4 PM and it takes approximately one hour to complete the tour. |
