Universal Studios is the most famous movie theme park in the world. A functional motion picture studio, Universal puts you right in the middle of your favorite scenes from your favorite movies. Universal features roller coaster rides, movie exhibits, production studios, and active film sets.

Embark on an unforgettable journey as you step into the past to discover the people and the places that shaped present day Kissimmee in this distinctive museum. Take a tour of a working cattle ranch or join in the excitement of watching an action packed rodeo. The museum is open Thursday to Saturday from 10 AM – 4 PM. It is closed on all major holidays. The admission fee for adults is $2 and for children is $1.

Known as the ‘Alligator Capital of the World,’ Gatorland is a 110-acre park and wildlife reserve and one of Central Florida’s oldest attractions. Home to thousands of alligators, including a rare blue one, Gatorland lets you watch the creatures of the wild, like venomous snakes, from close quarters. The park is usually open from 9 AM to 5 or 6 PM every day. The admission fee is $19.95 for ages 13 and over and $12.95 for ages 3 -12.

Set against the backdrop of a rustic village, Old Town is a treat for the whole family. There you can enjoy amazing rides, like a retro Ferris Wheel, and view vintage cars at the weekly car cruise. Experience the thrill of riding in the Windstorm Roller Coaster or ride the exciting Wave Swinger. Those who love go karting can spin their wheels around the Happy Days Family Go-Kart Track. For kiddies, there’s a separate park area called Fun Town where your little ones can enjoy a Merry-Go-Round ride, spin on the Tea Cups and ride the Dragon Wagon Kiddie Coaster. The amusement rides are open from 12 PM to 11 PM from Monday to Sunday. Tickets are sold separately for most rides.

The Osceola Center for the Arts offers a wide variety of live performance, including plays, musical performances and ballet. If you will be staying in a Kissimmee vacation home or a Kissimmee apartment for a couple of weeks, you might consider sending you child to the center’s 2-week Summer Art Camp for children aged between 7 and 15. The Center is open Monday – Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, from 9 AM to 12 PM, August through May. In June and July, the center is open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday. The center is closed on Sundays, except in cases of special events. Individual tickets to plays are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students. All tickets for concerts are $10, while dance performances are $12. All tickets may be purchased in advance via the Internet.

If you are a sports fan, then a longer duration stay at one of the Kissimmee vacation homes or Kissimmee condos is a must as the area is abound with innumerable sporting events. Major League Baseball’s Houston Astros hold their annual spring training in Kissimmee, with the Atlanta Braves in nearby Lake Buena Vista. A little further from Kissimmee, Orlando is home to the National Basketball Association’s Orlando Magic.

Kissimmee is home to several of its own teams, including the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Florida Seals and 2 National Indoor Football League teams, the Osceola Outlaws and the Kissimmee Kreatures.
