| The permanent collection at Museum of Contemporary Art, located on Prospect Street, includes more than 3,000 works, in the form of painting, sculpture, and works on paper, photography, video, and film. Besides the regular collection of artworks, the Museum arranges several special exhibitions too. Guided tours are conducted by trained docents and special arrangements can be made for Spanish tours. The galleries at the museum offer enticing views of the Pacific, thanks to its location high up on a cliff. Museum opens from 11 AM to 5 PM on all days except Thursday when it is open till 7 PM, and remains closed on Wednesdays. Admission charges include $6 for adults and $2 for students/ military/ seniors. Entry is free for all on third Tuesday of the month, while children (under 12 years) enter without any fee on all days. |

| Birch Aquarium |
| Explore colorful Pacific marine life at Birch Aquarium. The exhibits include Sea of Genes, Hall of Fishes, Shark Reef, Tide-Pool and Coral displays. The Aquarium happens to be the interpretive centre for Scripps Institute of Oceanography, meant for general public. Make the most of this museum cum aquarium, by using its visitor guide available at the entrance itself. Every third Saturday of the month the aquarium organizes family days where your family can enjoy arts and crafts, science, and special tours. The Aquarium even offers a gift shop and a book shop in the complex, where you can buy souvenirs or buy some books on the marine life. You can venture out for whole family fun and entertainment from 9 AM to 5 PM daily. The admission charges to Birch Aquarium include adult (18-59 years) $11, senior (60 years+) $9, college students (with ID proof) $8, youth (3-17 years) $7.50, UCSD staff and students (with ID proof) $7.50, and children (2 years and under) free. |

| Torrey Pines State Reserve |
| Torrey Pines State Reserve is a 2,000-acre reserve to protect this distinctive and almost extinct species of pine trees, Torrey Pines. Enjoy guided nature walks on weekends and holidays on its 8-mile trails. Several hiking trails running parallel to the bluff elevated high above the sea level, serve as excellent sites to sight the migrating gray whales and dolphins all round the year. Special interpretive tours of the reserve are organized for educational groups and large groups. Take a glimpse of the natural and cultural history of the Reserve at the museum in the visitor center. The Reserve opens from 8 AM daily and the visitor center opens from 9 AM. Parking fees for passenger vehicles include: general $6 (weekends/ holidays $8,) seniors $5 (weekend/ holidays $7,) disabled $3 (weekends/ holidays $4.) For buses on all days the parking fees include: bus (10 – 24 passengers) $50, bus (25+ passengers) is $100 and annual pass is for $125. If reservations are made two weeks in advance then parking fee is waived for educational groups. |

| LEGOLAND® California is located at the nearby seaside village of Carlsbad, 30 minutes north of San Diego. LEGOLAND®, California is the first North American amusement park by a Danish toy maker. Designed to appeal to youngsters’ ages 2 to 12, the family theme park opened in 1999 and draws more than 1.5-million visitors a year. The 128-acre LEGO-themed Park features nearly 40 hands-on attractions, family rides, shows, restaurants, shopping and more. 1 Day-Admission is $53 for adults, $43 for children (3-12 years) and seniors (60 years+). 2-day Admission is priced at $61 for adults and $51 for children and seniors. Children (below the age of 2 years) are admitted for free. Parking for cars is priced at $8. |
