Lake Havasu City hosts many seasonal events. In February, there's the Chili Society Cook-Off and the Havasu Classic powerboat races. President's Day weekend is the annual Winterblast fireworks show. The Havasu Happening classic car show is held the last weekend in March and the Halva-Salsa Challenge is always in April.
Powerboat racing moves to the forefront again in September during Havasu National Speed Week. October brings the Relics and Rods Run to the Sun classic car show and the IJSBA-International Jet Sport Boating Association's world racing championships. London Bridge Days & Renaissance Festival are held the last weekend in October. During the holiday season, the London Bridge Festival of Lights and the annual boat parade, held the first Saturday in December, begin a 6-week period festivity.

Getting To and Around Lake Havasu |
The local Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport is located 5 miles north of the city on Highway 95. If you are flying into Phoenix and driving from there, plan on a little over 3 1/2 hours driving time. If you are driving from Las Vegas, it will take you about 3 hours. Flying into Laughlin/Bullhead City and driving from there takes about 70 minutes.
Amtrak has a national rail passenger service to Needles and Kingman. From there you can arrange transportation into Lake Havasu City by shuttle. Greyhound also has a local stop in Lake Havasu City. Auto rentals are also available. |
