Fine Dining opportunities are not Little Gasparilla Island‘s main feature. Take a boat to the mainland to enjoy an Italian cuisine or seafood. In addition, the nearby areas offer diverse dining opportunities. Boca Grande has many fine dining options and casual dining. Seafood is the main fare on the menu of most restaurants.
Stargazing is the best night activity available in the island. The night sky is clear and provides opportunities for creating your own constellations. Do not expect to find nightclubs and restaurants with live music. If that is what you are looking for - then head towards Englewood and Sarasota that have a number of lounges, pubs and bars. |

| One of the least commercial place, Little Gasparilla Island offers little as far as shopping is concerned. Stock up on groceries on the way before taking your vacation here. There are only 2 stores on the island. One is Island Soap Company and the other is the golf car rental store. Island Soap Company offers fragrant soap bars that make for excellent gifts. They also sell specialty soaps that require a minimum order of 7 bars per design. Little Gasparilla Island t-shirts, tote bags and hats are also available. Boca Grande located about 6 miles away from the island has a number of antique stores, art galleries, apparel stores and jewelry stores. |

Little Gasparilla Island has splendid weather throughout the year. The summer high sometimes goes over 90° F, with July and August having the maximum number of really hot days. During the winter season, thermometer reads somewhere between 55° F and 80° F. Through the year the temperature stays between 55° F and a little above 90° F. The rainy season starts in June and pours until September. Thunderstorms tend to come and pass quickly. June though November is the hurricane season in Southwest Florida.
Little Gasparilla Island is a year-round vacation spot. If rain is not your thing, do not visit during the months from June until September. The summer sometimes sees the thermometer read above 90° F however pleasant winds from the sea offset the high temperatures. |

| A number of airports are located near Little Gasparilla Island. Charlotte County Airport is located 19 miles east in Punta Gorda. Page Field Airport is about 13 miles southeast in Fort Myers, Southwest Florida International Airport is 38 miles southeast in Fort Myers, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport 42 miles northwest in Sarasota. The island does not have any roads or cars. Water taxis and boats are easily available to access the island from the mainland. The best way to get around the island is walking. Golf carts are available on rent. |
