Marco Island lies within the subtropical to tropical climate zone and experiences a distinct wet and dry season. Most rainfall occurs between the months of June and October. Winter afternoons come with dependable sunshine and temperatures in the 70º F to 80º F range. The Gulf water temperature ranges from a low of 60ºs in the winter to a high of 80º F in summers and fall.
January to March is the peak season when both winter residents and visitors nearly double the city’s population. For a fishing holiday consider spring, summer and fall. Though, in winters also the Gulf waters provide good fly-fishing conditions.
