The rates of the rentals are the highest during the peak season, which is summer though you can get great discounts during the off-season between September through October. Nantucket is located within nearly equal distance from two major airports: Boston (Logan International Airport) and Providence, Rhode Island (T.F. Green Airport). Several commercial airliners offer regular services to the Nantucket Memorial Airport. These include Cape Air, Continental Express Airlines, Island Airlines, and Nantucket Airlines. From the airports, you can arrange for transportation to Nantucket Island via connecting air service, bus, taxi or by renting a car.

The small size of the island makes traveling around the island extremely convenient. The best way of getting around is by bikes. All beaches have biking paths.
