Flourishing shopping destinations in Kauai include Downtown Kapaa, Hanalei, Kilauea with Kong Lung Store and the fabulous Lotus Gallery which is the style center of the island. Check out the Hawaiian arts, Hawaiian cultural practices, and Hawaiian elders and artists here. In Hanalei there are quite a few mind-blowing shops, art galleries, boutiques and a handful of shopping centers.

Very close to Kauai Niihau, renowned as the "Forbidden Island" is again a fantastic place to buy the unique and exquisite art form, “Niihau-shell leis”. Majestic craftsmanship is portrayed in this jewelry made of tiny shells. It can be a priceless gift for the one very close to your heart.

Kauai is famous for the “Red Dirt Shirt” as well. This can serve as an inexpensive, easy-to-pack souvenir of your trip to Kauai or gifts for all your near and dear ones. The Red Dirt Shirt as the name suggests is very unique mainly because it is hand-dyed and has a grunge look. The demand and craze for this T-shirt in Kauai is unbelievable.

 Best Times to Visit Princeville

Those with a strong desire to visit and see the spectacular natural landscapes of Kauai can opt for a vacation any time of the year. The peak season is mid-December through March or mid-April when prices are up and resorts are almost booked to capacity. The last two weeks of December in particular are supposedly the prime time for a tour to Kauai.

The off-season starts during spring from mid-April to mid-June and also the fall months from September to mid-December. These are in fact the best seasons in terms of reliably great weather. If you want to save some money or if you desire a quiet and secluded vacation this is the time to visit. Even the hotel rates and airfares tend to be significantly lower during the off seasons. Off-season tourists are generally very lucky because this is the time when some exceptional packages and special deals are in the offing.
