As colorful and fascinating as its natural beauty is the culture of Kauai and large part of it has been preserved in the Kauai Museum. Housed in a Greco-Roman building, this museum narrates the story of Kauai through historical and natural history collection, works of art, textiles and rare collections of Hawaiian and Pacific cultural materials. You are surely to discover a variety of artifacts ranging from marine shells, land snails and sea otter pelt to relics such as tooth necklace, game stones, bowls and vessels, Asian dolls, WWII memorabilia, Hawaiian saddles and plantation era furnishings. The museum is open from 9 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday and on Saturdays it stays open from 10 AM to 4 PM. The admission fee for adults is $5, $4 for seniors, $3 for students and $1 for children between the age of 6 to 12. |
