| Isla Río Cuale |
| The highlight of the Isla Rio Cuale, a five-acre island, is its mesmerizing scenic beauty. Starting from the mouth of the Cuale River and dividing the downtown into two parts, the western end of the island faces the blue Pacific Ocean, while the eastern end overlooks canyons and the spectacular mountains. There is a picturesque red bridge over the river, which leads the visitors to the island. You will find here a plethora of shops, clothing and art boutiques, open-air stalls, cafés and restaurants. The central plaza features the bronze statue of the film director John Huston, who directed and shot the film Night of the Iguana starring Richard Burton and Ava Gardner. This film catapulted Puerto Vallarta into its present limelight as a popular tourist destination. |

| Casa Kimberley |
| Casa Kimberley, the former home of the great actress Elizabeth Taylor, is connected to the home of her husband Richard Burton by a pink and white love bridge. Burton bought the 24,000 square feet area to celebrate her 32nd birthday after filming The Night of the Iguan. The house remained under the ownership of Elizabeth Taylor for 26 years after which she sold it. Most of her possessions are lying intact for public exhibition. A part of the home is being used as a live-in bed-and-breakfast, while the rest is a museum that can be visited from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. The entry is by tickets. |

| The heart of religious activities in Puerto Vallarta, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a beautiful little church with simply amazing architecture and beautifully carved interiors. The sound of the bells ringing after every 15 minutes add to the tranquility of the peaceful atmosphere. The crown on the top makes this beautiful cathedral famous as also the hand-carved columns, decorative moldings and other rich detailing. |

| Get a glimpse of the history and culture of the town in the Museo Arqueológico, located on the western tip of the island. On display are an interesting collection of pre-Columbian figures and Indian artifacts, pre-Hispanic murals, maps, and archaeological pieces. The museum is open daily from 10-2 and 4-6. Though entry is free, a donation is requested. |
