Rotonda offers a peaceful respite from the crowds that throng the common big beaches of a busy beach town. The area features endless activities including kayaking, jet-skiing, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, nature walks, hiking and lots more, to keep you on your toes during your stay.
Rotonda has a real Caribbean feel and the Gulf of Mexico’s white sandy beaches are just minutes away on Manasota Key. There you can enjoy swimming, fishing, shelling and other beach activities.
Water sports
Go boating, kayaking, jet-skiing, scuba diving, swimming and indulge in all the water sports you can imagine.
Fishing
Salt and fresh water fishing is a year round adventure for fishing enthusiasts. Tarpon is the prize catch of the region, apart from grouper, snook, reds, trout, shark, and more. There are several good local public ramps in the area. There’s fishing for the kids, too.
Temporary 12 month, 7 day, and 3 day fishing licenses are available for nonresidents. Children under the age of 16 do not need a license to fish in Florida.
Children's Activities
Land activities that you and your family can enjoy go-karting, ten-pin bowling, and cycling. Or you could try the local batting cages, small rides and arcade games. Whether your kids discover nature on a dolphin sight 'n' sound tour or participate in a kids fishing trip or tournament, there is plenty to keep them happy in the Rotunda area.
Tennis
When you need to burn calories, try the wonderful tennis facilities that are available in the area.
Nature Walks and Tours
There is a wide variety of local wildlife. Maybe you will spot some nesting eagles on a wilderness or aquatic eco-tour. Alternatively, you could try a wildlife buggy ride through a cypress swamp.
Amusement Parks
Enjoy a day-trip to Disneyworld in Orlando, which is 3 hours away from Rotonda, or to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, only a 90-minute drive away.
