| Situated within the Emerald Bay State Park, the Vikingsholm Castle is a magnificent piece of architecture that seamlessly blends in with its splendid natural surroundings. It took as many as 200 workers to build this spectacular edifice for Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight. The unique of this towering castle lies in its construction as it was built without any nails or any other fasteners and its distinctive sod roof. The castle is also adorned with exquisite Scandinavian furnishings and antiques. The tours are available all days of the week from mid-June to end of September. The cost of the admission fee is $5 for adults, $3 for children between the age of 6 and 17 and free for children under the age of six. |

| Presently home to Valhalla community events, Tallac Historic Site was originally a site for the 100-year old Tallac Resort, which included two large hotels, a casino, and numerous annexes and out-buildings. You can also visit the Washoe Indian Cultural Foundation Exhibit at the Tallac Historic site. Apart from a slide presentation, there is an interesting display on housing, artifacts and pictures. The Tallac Historic Site is also venue to the Great Gatsby Festival that gives you the opportunity to travel back in to time to the Roaring '20s. Visit the site to enjoy the annual Valhalla Festival of Arts. |
