| Boating, Canoeing and Kayaking |
Take a ride on a glass-bottom boat at
Wakulla Spring State Park. Fees for boat tours are $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Charter a boat for
$200 or a pontoon for $50.
Kayaks and canoes are also available to rent in the area. The Ochlocknee River is ideal for boat rides. Tate’s Hell Swamp also offers 35 miles of
waterways for canoeing and boating. A concrete boat launch is located at Cash Creek, with other sites located
throughout the forest. If you are lucky, you will see alligators, birds, turtles, white-tailed deer and wild
turkey.
If you bring your own boat, there are 2 ramps in Florida. One of these is located next to
the marina. It is supposed to be a public launch, but as the marina owns the land on which you must turn around and park, they may charge a fee. The marina sells gas, supplies and offers short-term slip rentals. |

Known as the ‘Alligator Capital of the World,’ Gatorland is a 110-acre park and wildlife reserve and one of Central Florida’s oldest attractions. Home to thousands of alligators, including a rare blue one, Gatorland lets you watch the creatures of the wild, like venomous snakes, from close quarters. The park is usually open from 9 AM to 5 or 6 PM every day. The admission fee is $19.95 for ages 13 and over and $12.95 for ages 3 -12. |

| St. Augustine Alligator Farm |
Visit Florida’s oldest alligator park, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, which has to its credit, the honor of promoting the “largest reptile on exhibit in the Western Hemisphere”, Gomek. Located on Anastasia Island, less than a mile from Anastasia State Park, St. Augustine Alligator Farm hosts all twenty three species of crocodiles. The rare white alligators have also found a home in this Alligator farm. Other reptiles, tiny monkeys and over twenty five endangered animals can be observed here. |
