The annual rainfall in this area is 50-55 inches, with September seeing the maximum rainfall, followed by the months of June, July, August and October. The climate here can be best described as semi-tropical with warm and humid summers that experience short, fast moving thunderstorms along with cooling onshore breezes. Late fall, winter and early spring are warm and sunny with cool evenings. Temperatures in summer rarely go above 90º F and winter temperatures rarely drop below 52º F.

Getting To and Around Vero Beach |
Vero Beach has a municipal airport 3 miles away, open to private and charter services, as does nearby Ft. Pierce-St. Lucie County and Sebastian.
The Melbourne International Airport has domestic and international terminals and is 39 miles away. The Palm Beach, Orlando and Miami International Airports are all within a 1 to 2 hour drive from Vero Beach.
You can drive to Vero Beach via the Interstate 95 and State Route 60 or US1.
While here, rent a car or a bicycle, depending on how much sightseeing you plan to do. You can also use Indian River Transit, which operates on a fixed schedule basis five days a week in Indian River County. Service is available for all riders at no charge.
For the elderly or disabled, Community Coach provides door-to-door, assisted service for a nominal fee on Monday through Friday only.
