Water Sports

Various forms of surfing, body boarding, and scuba diving, swimming, sailing kayaking are sports that have been created for Waikiki. The Waikiki waters are ideally suited for surfing especially if you are a beginner who can use some surfing guide provided by the surfing schools that Waikiki abounds in. The Kahanamoku Beach named after the famous athlete, Duke Kahanamoku is a Mecca for water sports like kayaking, swimming and others. You can rent out the necessary equipments from the rental stands that the sandy beach abounds in. A hot local favorite in Waikiki is the place nick-named ‘The Wall’ where you can body board.

Canoeing

Canoeing is very popular hereabouts and outrigger canoe paddling competitions are eagerly awaited and the first ever canoe competition in the history of Hawaii was held in Waikiki in the 1900’s. You can catch the excitement at the Waikiki beach and chase huge waves by renting out a huge outrigger canoe.

You could learn surfing at one of Waikiki’s prime surfing schools. There many things to be seen and done by your kids too and Waikiki is one place that will not bore them or you either. But make sure to befriend that bottle of sunscreen and hat.
