Skiing is not the only way to explore and discover fascinating vistas in and around Zephyr Cove. Hiking, the other alternative to skiing will also bring you to close to nature’s bounty. An easy trail that begins just 3miles north of Zephyr Cove will lead you to the top of Cave Rock from where you can peer down at some of the most breathtaking views. For a little more challenge, take the Mt. Tallac Trailhead or the Glen Alpine Trailhead to Mt. Tallac. Though strenuous, the hike to the summit is worth every penny as you are treated to spectacular views of Fallen Leaf Lake, Lake Tahoe and the Desolation Wilderness.
