Vacation Rentals in Ketchikan

Ketchikan is a small city located in western Alaska. The city is mostly known for its great fishing and has even earned itself the nickname of Salmon Capital of the World and many of the visitors who flock to the region each year come for this reason. But fishing is not all the city has to offer. Ketchikan is located on the shores of a scenic bay surrounded by beautiful mountains and forest areas consisting of hemlock, cedar, and spruce and the remoteness of the region offers plenty of opportunity to participate in a number of outdoor activities including swimming, hunting, hiking, camping, backpacking, nature viewing, canoeing, kayaking, cycling and bird watching. The city is also known for its unique history and culture, some of which is displayed in the largest collection of totem poles in the world located at three locations around the city.

There are many places to stay in the city but for tourists who want the true authentic and natural experience of the area, a quaint cabin, villa or cottage located on the coast or in one of the wooded areas in the foothills is their best bet. These Ketchikan vacation rentals are sturdy, rugged and beautiful and make for a great retreat after a long day of outdoor adventure. They are also located close to everything visitors need during a stay in the city including restaurants, retail shops, lounges, bars, information centers and outdoor outfitters.

There are many must-see attractions in and around Ketchikan including the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, Totem Heritage Center, Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, Totem Bight Park, Misty Fjords National Monument, Southeast Alaska Discovery Center, Creek Street, Saxman Native Village, Tongass Historical Museum, Revillagigedo Island, Deer Mountain Tribal Hatchery and Eagle Center, Guard Island Lighthouse and Chief Johnson Totem Pole.
