home is pleasant and Affordable we stayed here in the middle of July for one week. there is plenty of rooms and space for a family of 8+ I would recommend bringing towels as the ones they do provide are not enough and limited. It would also be nice if there were some replenished items in the pantry that could be used for cooking as there was nothing when we got there and we had to go on full groceries.(the basics would do condiments/salt/pepper/sugar/paper plates none of that is included) proximity to beach 2 blocks away is great 2 minute’s walk by foot. also proximity to seawall area and attractions are also a 5 minute’s drive which is what attracted us to this home. also the week we stayed here not sure if it's high season for mosquitos or what down there, but wow was there ever a mosquito infestation around the home near the dunes. every time we stepped in/out of the car and back into the home we had to run in/out so we wouldn't get bitten alive. at end of the vacation week we all looked like we had chicken pox. we also were not able to enjoy the outside balconies because of all the mosquitos at night time another problem with this rental is the cleaning. property management needs to be aware that their cleaning crew/company is not up to par. on the second day, we found ourselves cleaning the air filter above the day bed because there where spider webs and dust falling from it and I was not about to sleep under there at night. fans where dirty in almost every room , we also had to clean the floors as they were not swept. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY AND DON'T CARE ABOUT A CLEAN PLACE ...this will be nice for you!

Galveston is a small island tucked in South Texas and is only a 40 minute drive from one of Texas’ biggest cities, Houston. This 32 mile stretch offers beaches, shopping, unique restaurants, resorts, nightlife and entertainment that is perfect for families, groups or couples of all ages. It is also one of the largest areas of Victorian architecture in the country. There are also wonderful Galveston vacation rentals right on the beach for a home away from home.

The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier is the newest attraction that offers guests an inside look at what Galveston really was in the 1940’s and really is a site to see. Similar to the Santa Monica Pier, this amusement park has a Ferris wheel, train rides and 200ft tall swing which was names the highest ride in Texas. If you are looking to really dive into the history of this island, take a tour through the 36 block area of downtown Galveston to The Strand, Waterfront District and the Post Office Arts District. There is something for everyone in this charming and beautiful Texas island.

Since Galveston is right on the gulf, you can bet the seafood is as fresh as it gets. Take advantage of the incredible restaurants for every palate from seafood to Mexican and everything in between.
